Peloton Sports/TORC Weekly News
Come and meet our very own world champion!
Peloton Sports Invites you for drinks and nibbles with newly crowned World Champion John Horsburgh this Thursday at Bar Stelvio. 6.30pm till 8.00pm.
Congratulate John yourself over a glass of red, or if you don’t know John, this is a fantastic opportunity to meet the champion of hard arses. John has been with Peloton Sports since it started. He is one of the hardest athletes you will ever meet! While you were turning around at Calga (or before) last Sunday John stuck it out for 140km. Thats why he is a champion.
With so many Peloton Sports members qualifying for next years Gran Fondo final in France, Thursday is a good chance to ask the right questions from the champion himself on what you should be doing!
See you Thursday!
And a good time was had by most...
It was billed as the Bumble Hill Ride, but Rowdy’s Birthday, combined with constant threat of rain, changed the dynamics a bit. In the end it seemed we had three groups.
Rowdy, Pete R, Pink Geoff, John H and Clinton did a spirited ride through to Somersby. First time Clinton has done it. Sometimes you need a new rider to remind us of how gorgeous some of our rides are. Like Somersby, where we are quickly out of the suburbs, then follow the water a bit up to Mt White, farmland out to Peats’s Ridge and Somersby, that gorgeous ride through Mooney Mooney Creek. As I’m told, Rowdy attacked and the rest worked together to peg him back. Repeat until you run out of road. All in all a top ride from all accounts.
Simon S, Tony H, Haydyn and Aiden joined Ray and others for a soggy but happy Calga.
PD, Mary B, Patsy, Cathy, Darren, Tall Man and I did a more sedate, but slightly drier, jaunt out to Mt White and back. Not as far but with Rowdy’s pace making on the way out and the incentive of rainclouds on the way back we still managed a pretty happy pace. And PD tells me the frittata at the coffee shop at the end was terrific.
Don’t forget drinks with a champion on Thursday night.
See you on the road,
