Individual Time Trial Champion of the World
Not many cycling clubs in Australia can boast about their riders winning State Championships, Australian Championships or getting pro contacts. After many years of hard work and sacrifice, Peloton Sports has seen some of its members come through the ranks to achieve, what most of us dream of....Being World Champion!
John Horsburgh who is already president of "Hard Arses Australia" has just taken the title of "The worlds Biggest Hard Arse!"
Last Thursday John placed his Time Trial bike on the starting ramp on Rottnest Island and with the adrenaline of a last min front wheel change set off to beat the worlds best masters riders, which he achieved taking the win with the fastest time making him the World Champion.
What a magician! and Peloton Sports is so proud of you!
Peloton Sports has a World Champion to add to our list of Champions.
WELL DONE JOHN!!!!
But it did not stop there! John backed up on Sunday for the road race. Starting in the center of Perth, the road race headed for the hills and finishing with a hilltop Tour de France style finish in Kalamunda, John hit it out with the best to take 3 place.
2 Medals for his country and his club.
We salute you John!
Not to take away from our other members who have also trained so hard for the World Masters Championships, Jake Potgieter finished 25th in Masters 3 just off the leaders. Well Done Jake.
Helen Horsburgh who clearly gets some form of something from John came 6th in her division. Well done Helen!
