Its time to turn your cycling dream into a reality everyone. Presenting the 2017 tour. 15 Nights, riding fully supported across the Haute Route, from Switzerland to Italy, crossing the Swiss Italian Alps into Italy, then moving from the Alps into the Dolomites and finishing in beautiful town of Trento.

is how PD described me after the Sunday ride. Quite appropriate - that's pretty much how I felt.

There were two groups for Ettalong last week (three if you count my 50 km stint in no man's land on the way back).

PD led out the first group of about 12 or so. Cathy, Andrew, Stuart, Larry, Green Sox, Patsy and Mary, our Canadian friend and others left at 6:30 to make the ferry. Second lot left at the official, scheduled time for some reason. Your's truly, Aiden, Tony H, Jake, Ray, David B, Tall Man, Pete R, Pink Geoff, Susan C and Uncle Fester were amongst the riders. Our group started a little slow - the aim being to warm up before setting a goodly pace into Ettalong. At Mt White we stumbled on Drastique also heading our way. By the second hill at Somersby we were a little behind (thanks for waiting for me) so the pace had to pick up a tad. Jake went to the front and set his usual pace. I fell off the back (cause and effect) but since I actually knew the way I managed get back on just after Woy Woy. We all rolled in to meet the first bunch before the ferry arrived.

The way back hurt. Your correspondent left the Ferry at Palmy early to get ahead of the bunch, looked around at the 30 odd people on his wheel, and realized this was not going to work. I stayed with the first bunch just long enough to ensure a lonely, windy ride along the beaches and up to Terry Hills. There I came up to Stuart just as Green Sox caught me.

Brilliant day for a longer ride. Perfect weather and it was great riding with your mates in the sunshine.

Bowral next week, so there could be fewer riders.

See you on the road.

Racing Update

Junior Racing
Sydney Olympic Park Criterium
With the Sydney Spring Cycle finishing at Olympic Park on Sunday, Cycling Australia put on a Criterium at the finish to show case cycle racing. With divisions for everyone I though it was a good opportunity to get Hudson to fly the flag for Peloton Sports.
His race was 20 mins up and down the cobbled Olympic Boulevard to sort out weak riders from the strong. Hudson rode strong to finish 3rd in the under 11’s. Well done Hudson.

Junior Cyclist Track Racing at Lidcombe
Hudson backed up for track in the afternoon with his sister Indi. Hudson had tired legs but with points to grab for the championship maned up to fight it out with his new rival Remy. 1 race win each!
Indi who missed last week and does not train in-between anymore (unlike brother Hudson who trains 4 days a week) because in her own words “i don’t need to train because I always win” hopped back on her bike with a much bigger gear than last time and a good warm up and won both races convincingly. Even dad was impressed. Well done kids!!

Oh and in the car on the way home Indi asked Hudson how many wins did he get and before he could answer replied not as many as me I won 2!! Boom! Boom! Boom! Sibling Rivalry.

Heffron Park
With numbers at a all time high (over 110 entries this week) Peloton Sports had 4 riders racing this week. No places this week in the windy conditions, Luke with 2 flats and Mark on the grass in the sprint. If you have a race licence its time to talk to the boss and make this your Tuesday Night thing to do. Its great fun and will give you the edge your looking for!
